This brand new fire themed event is inspired by Bonfire Night and northern fire folklore, blending performance, ritual and spectacle for audiences to enjoy.
Expect an evening of fiery installations, live fire drawings and mesmerising fire dancers.
The night will feature Emergency Exit Arts and Lightfires’ Frank & McStein’s Monster Laboratory Show “Out of the Lab, Into the Fire.” Guided by Frank and McStein’s eminent colleagues and their team of Igors, audiences will journey through six fire powered interactive stations, earning power up tokens and feeding them into the Monster O Meter.
Wander among stunning flame filled displays, watch artists paint the night sky with sparks, and enjoy thrilling performances that bring heat, light and drama to the heart of the town.
The evening will also see Bessemer the Dragon and Toni the Bat take to the stage in a fiery showdown between two legendary beasts. One, a visitor from an ancient, magical past, awoken in the molten belly of the Earth and emerging from darkness; the other, guided by eerie plague doctors seeking lost souls to be purified by dragon fire.
Watch as these scorching figures battle it out to see who will emerge the most victorious and deadliest of monsters.
This is a free event and entry to the Out the lab, Into the fire’ is accessed via a queue – no need to book.
Timings
Each installation will take participants roughly 5 minutes to complete, alongside a grand finale every 25 mins with a 5 min duration.
