Oldham Youth service plan to offer a 3-day photography program, finished off with a trip to Blackpool Sandcastle. The young people will take part in the program to capture Oldham through he eyes of a young person. They will take a walk around Dovestones, travel to different areas of the borough to photograph ‘famous’ architecture and landmarks and create their own ‘Studio’ where they will invite VIPs of Oldham to come and have their portrait done. This work will then be transformed into works of art, including in frames and canvases. The group will then end their week with a reward trip to a waterpark, enabling new social experiences. These sessions, as well as providing healthy food and fun activities will be based on Youth Work Practice, using activities to raise awareness of how young people see Oldham, skill building, making new friends and improving confidence and self-esteem.
