The show weaves improvised electronics with nighttime soundscapes collected from across the globe by sound artist Duncan Chapman\, soothing Carnatic vocals from Supriya Nagarajan and luscious improvised harp playing from Lucy Nolan. \nThey have collected over 300 lullabies internationally\, from libraries to office blocks\, which are woven into the soundscape and used as a stimulus for improvisation. \nLullaby – Sonic Cradle has toured across eleven countries\, from the Riverside Theatre in Sydney Australia to WOMAD and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. \nThe show delights in creating a bespoke immersive musical experience for every new audience; the use of lullabies is intended to subtly emphasise the universality of singing and music\, deliberately blending influences from many cultures to transcend genre. \nHer Revelation\nKinna Whitehead vocals\, synthesizer / Vato Klemera synthesisers\, sampler / Peter Bell modular synthesizer\, sampler\nHer Revelation is an electronic music trio that perform primarily improvised live sets\, defined by intensity and mutability. By inciting one another endlessly towards delightful moments\, the trio plays with delicate soundscapes\, peppered with disruptive textures. Drawing on an array of eclectic source material from Ursula K. Le Guin to Meredith Monk to FKA Twigs\, Her Revelation is a music-based practice attending to a transcendental every day. \nKinna’s adroit lyricism melds with the band’s ‘comprovisations’ to examine the crossing point at which mundane feelings and life’s unremarkable experiences become of exceptional importance. \nThe trio first met and performed together at Eastside Gallery in Birmingham in 2022\, as part Oneiros\, an installation on sleep cycles. DESCRIPTION:Festival Oldham returns to Oldham town centre on Saturday 30 May 2026\, 12 to 4pm\,  with a spectacular celebration of culture\, community and creativity set to kick-start the summer season. \nThis year’s free outdoor arts festival will also officially launch Oldham’s Greater Manchester Town of Culture programme\, Rising Up\, marking the beginning of an exciting year of arts and culture across the borough. \nInspired by all things green\, floral and full of summer energy\, Festival Oldham 2026 promises a blooming wonderful day of entertainment featuring local\, regional and national outdoor artists performing across the town centre. \nVisitors can enjoy an exciting programme of street theatre\, dance\, visual arts\, family performances and live music throughout the day. \nThe main stage on Parliament Square will host performances from: \n\nTaste of Sabrina\nBaked À La Ska\nUntold Orchestra\nSnow In August\n\nNew for 2026 is Dancing Town\, a showcase celebrating some of the very best dance talent from across the borough. \nFestivalgoers can also enjoy an incredible line-up of outdoor performances including: \n\nBee-Yond the Garden Gate by Limelight Circus\nEasy Lay Eggs by Fair Play\nThe Pigeons by Circii\n\nAlongside all the fun\, the majestic Summer Lion by Creature Encounters will also roam through the town centre across the day. \nWitness a breath-taking murmuration of starlings created by Burnley Brow Primary School in response to the exhibition Oldham Wakes by Sophie Tyrrell\, currently on display at Gallery Oldham until September.

SUMMARY:Introduction To Making Video Games.
DESCRIPTION:Non technical video game creating session.\n\n\nHave you ever wanted to make a videogame\, but thought you didn't have technical chops\, a powerful enough PC\, or just didn't know where to start? In this workshop\, led by BAFTA Breakthrough game developer and games researcher Stanley Baxton\, you'll be introduced to the no-code Bitsy engine\, allowing anyone to make a videogame straight from their web browser. DIY game communities have been growing online\, encouraging everyone to join them in showing personal experiences\, stories\, and more through videogames. Bring your phone or a laptop to this session\, and discover how to become part of this community yourself. \nStanley W. Baxton is a narrative game developer\, and currently a PhD student at the University of Salford\, studying gamedev communities and sustainability. Previously\, he worked at Supermassive Games as a game designer. He's made over a dozen games solo\, won the 2024 New Media Writing Prize\, and is part of BAFTA Breakthrough 2025.  \nFor Ages 8 + \n \nThis event is part of the Festival of Libraries 2026
