SUMMARY:3Cs Chess Club
DESCRIPTION:3Cs chess club was formed in 1978\, originally to provide local school children in the Oldham area with an opportunity to learn the game. \nThe club draws its members mainly from schools competing in the Oldham Primary Schools’ League\, although every child is welcomed to the club. \nThe name “Children’s Chess Club” is a constant reminder of their priorities – to encourage a far greater youth participation in the game irrespective of skill level.  The club’s members are representative of all Oldham’s diverse backgrounds and cultures with the children happily competing on equal terms\, either as a team representing the club or individually in various tournaments. \nClub nights don’t just consist of those in attendance playing a few games against each other\, nor are they about simply teaching moves and tactics to the four or five various coaching groups taking place into which those with varying levels of skill are organised to ensure they get the correct level of instruction.  The club also believes that if these children know more about the history and traditions of the game then it will add even more to their enjoyment and understanding of it. \nWinners of the national "British Chess Educational Trust" award for inclusive work \nAccessible to all - willing to adjust teaching techniques to accommodate anyone with special needs or disabilities

DESCRIPTION:Fly away to Neverland this Christmas in a magical new production of Peter Pan. \nThis year marks the 10th anniversary of Oldham Theatre Workshop’s much loved Christmas productions\, and we’re celebrating with one of the greatest adventures ever told. \nFollowing last year’s sell out success of Hansel and Gretel\, Oldham Theatre Workshop returns to the Oldham Library Theatre Space in association with Live@thelibrary and Oldham Coliseum Ltd to bring J. M. Barrie’s timeless classic to life. \nExpect swashbuckling pirates\, daring adventures\, unforgettable characters\, live music\, original songs and the imaginative storytelling that has become the hallmark of our Christmas productions. With a sprinkle of fairy dust and a lot of theatrical magic\, ordinary objects become extraordinary\, imaginations take flight and Neverland appears before your very eyes. \nFor ten Christmases we’ve transformed the intimate surroundings of the Oldham Library Theatre into extraordinary worlds of adventure\, wonder and imagination. It’s where families have laughed together\, sung together and discovered that we make big theatre in a little venue. \nWhether you’re visiting Neverland for the first time or returning to a favourite story\, join us as we celebrate ten years of Christmas magic with a heartwarming\, hilarious and unforgettable adventure for the whole family. \nSuitable for ages 4+\nPlease note: Saturday 12th December 2pm\, will be a relaxed and BSL interpreted performance. This Performance creates a welcoming environment with adjusted sound and lighting\, a relaxed approach to movement and noise\, and a British Sign Language interpreter bringing the story to life for D/deaf and hard of hearing audience members. Perfect for families and anyone who prefers a gentler theatre experience. This relaxed and BSL interpreted performance can be purchased HERE.\nThe shows will begin at the time stated on the ticket. We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes before the show is due to start. \nWe aim to ensure that everybody has an enjoyable and welcoming experience. Late comers may be asked to wait outside the performance space until an appropriate time in the show before they can enter. \nTickets must be bought for all parties. Adults and Children.
