Charlene Burns

She has achieved so much in her life. I have known Charlene for many years. Despite her difficult upbringing, she has never let that set her back.

Charlene has worked in youth, community and education from a young age. She has inspired many of us to pursue our own paths with work and training which she advocates. She had no qualifications and had left school at age 15. Despite this she worked hard to gain a degree later in life, and has spent her working career trying to encourage others to pursue their dreams. She has done so much for communities and groups in Oldham.

She founded REEL CIC in 2017 and has done great work in her role. She has a heart of gold. She loves the town of Oldham and has always been driven to support and help those in need. She is proof that despite the cards you are dealt in life you can make something of yourself.
