Ibrahim, or Ibby as many know him, is truly inspirational - he was born and lives in Oldham. Ibby began his fundraising aged 12, his goal was to raise awareness of our local charities on X and raise as much as he could.
During these 6 years, Ibrahim has helped 19 local charities including Maggie’s, Oldham Foodbank, Dr. Kershaw’s, Spoons, RMCH Charity, Oldham Young Carers, and many other local charities, raising tens of thousands of pounds while battling his own severe health issues.
He also helps so many who are fundraising for our local charities and has received many local and National Awards. He is the youngest person in Oldham and Greater Manchester, aged only 13 to have been honoured with a BEM for services to the community of Oldham by the late Queen Elizabeth II, as well as receiving the British Citizen Youth Award. Locally The Civic Appreciation and University Campus Oldham presented him with a certificate of recognition for outstanding contribution to the Oldham community.
He is a very selfless young man who has forgone his previous 6 birthdays, asking everyone to donate to his chosen charity instead of receiving gifts. He has also donated all his Eid money to local charities and every week donates his pocket money to local charities, or people fundraising in our community.
Over these past 6 years he has forged TeamIbby and coordinates a network of supporters who assist him with his fundraising challenges. A truly incredible young man.
Do you know someone extraordinary. Why not tell their story?
