This nomination goes out to wealth of people really. My Dad, Michael Dean, was diagnosed with bowel cancer in February and this wonderful team from Royal Oldham Hospital - the MacMillan nurses, the stoma team and were all amazing.
Michael's surgeon, Mr. Siddique diagnosed cancer, performed life-changing surgery, treated him, and supported the whole family through a truly traumatic experience in just 3 months. Both my mum and dad, Michael and Margaret Dean dedicated 20 years to children's social care as foster/adoptive carers and have been at the heart of many children's lives within the community.
They are now proud parents of seven children, four of whom have been adopted and they celebrate their fourteen grandchildren every single day.
Thank you to the NHS for giving us back precious time with our very courageous dad and extra special nanny and grandpa.
Do you know someone extraordinary. Why not tell their story?
