The Whirling Dirvish Experience

As part of Khushi Festival 2026, experience the extraordinary world of the Whirling Dervish and discover the history and symbolism behind this centuries-old tradition.

Presented by a practicing dervish of the Melvelvi Order, based on the teachings of the 13th-century poet and Sufi mystic Rumi.

Through live demonstrations, alongside poetry, music and chant you'll discover the spiritual meaning behind the dervish's flowing movement, posture and ceremonial dress.

Open to people of all faiths and none, this is a unique chance to experience a living tradition that continues to inspire audiences around the world.

Guests will also be invited to take part in guided meditation and, for those who wish, try simple whirling techniques.
